Reactor modeling and criticality safety

High performance computer modeling can be effectively applied to criticality problems:

  • Reactor physics: ageing studies, calculation of reactivity
  • Criticality safety: storage of nuclear components and fuel
  • Decommissionning/dismantling: safety studies during dismantling of equipment exposed to fissible materials
