Stilbene
From Detec-Rad.com
(C14H12)
Mainly used for fast neutron detection and spectroscopy. Pulse rise time analysis techniques can be applied to discriminate between neutrons and gamma radiation background or between α and β particles.
- Stilbene has a high structural perfection and performance stability
- For applications where neutron-gamma discrimination is not too important, P-Therphenyl is used preferentially as it has a higher light output
[edit]
Applications
- Selective registration of fast neutrons (n) on γ-radiation background in scintillation pulse-shape discrimination techniques,
- α/β-, n/β, proton/β-selection.
- Neutron field spectrometry.
