A Tissue Equivalent Proportional Counter (abbreviated TEPC) is a detector that allows the simultaneous measurement of the energy deposition and the LET of an event. The application, on an event by event basis, of LET dependent quality factors enables the TEPC to provide a real time measure of dose equivalent and dose equivalent rate.
